Being ‘future fit’ for 2025 should be on the agenda of every senior team… says Chris Parsons, founder Partner of Q5, who is spending time with our Australian team this summer. The lead-up to any New Year is a really important time to be laying the foundations for future success in the year to come. Today, Chris is sharing some insights to help you plan towards a better 2025.

  • Firstly, set out a clear direction: A clear sense of purpose and direction for the year ahead gives your teams something to rally around. Provide a simple narrative that you can achieve together, one that binds your team to each other and motivates them to succeed in 2025.
  • Reduce complexity, erase duplication: It’s easy to create complexity through legacy structures and ways of working. Use this time to review your organisation design and set-up your team to take advantage of future opportunities. Make your organisation easy to do business with, and easy to do business within.
  • Be more effective to drive efficiencies: Cutting costs without being more effective in what you do rarely delivers long-term efficiencies. Instead, focus on driving greater effectiveness in how you set up your organisation structurally, how you simplify your processes, and how you make yourself easier to do business with for your customers. This way you will also achieve the efficiencies that make a sustainable difference to your business.
  • Technology should not be feared: All new technology comes with a learning curve and a new set of fears. Those organisations that thrive are those that transform by embracing new technologies. They find better ways of utilising tech to enhance what they do and how they do it; offering their customers and the market something special, something different…that’s the way to look at how new technologies can improve your business.

It might feel too early to be thinking about the New Year, but what you do for the remainder of 2024 will set you and your team up for success in 2025. Ask yourself these three questions to start that new thinking:

  1. How can you make the most of upcoming opportunities for your business?
  2. How can you best create a culture of optimism amongst your team where ambition, drive, and positivity thrive?
  3. How can you design a more effective organisation for 2025 that delivers cost-saving/ reinvestment opportunities and drives high performance?

What you do today will shape what you can achieve in 2025. Working on that in the next few weeks could really make the difference and get you ‘future fit’ for 2025.

Please get in touch should any of this resonate and we would be delighted to chat!
